Zoning Information

What is Zoning?

Zoning is the regulation of the location, height, bulk, number of stories and size of buildings and other structure, percentage of lot area which may be occupied, set backs sizes of yards, density of population, the uses of building and other structures and the use of land for trade, industry, residence, recreation or other purposes in the unincorporated territory of the township. Further, zoning regulations divide the unincorporated areas of the township into districts that best accommodate various uses for the land.

In 1993, St. Clair Township votes adopted their own Zoning Resolution, as provided for by the Ohio Revised Code, Section 519. Prior to 1993, St. Clair Township Zoning matters were governed by Butler County Zoning Regulations. Those were established in 1959.
